Qwick is excited to announce that professionals working 1099 shifts can access additional opportunities with business partners that require background checks. Read on for more information about how to take a background check if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and match with even more shifts.
Authorizing a Background Check Report
Qwick partners with a company called Checkr to run background checks and 1099 professionals can apply for a background check. As these opportunities enter your city you will be invited to take a background check via Checkr in your Qwick app!
Information Contained in the Background Check Report
Checkr will run the background check and issue a report that includes the following:
A social security number trace, which is used to search for records that may pertain to you (Don’t worry, this is totally normal.)
A search of the national sex offender database and/or government global watchlist databases
Any criminal history
Reviewing the Results
Qwick reviews every background check report to determine your work eligibility. Individuals with prior criminal convictions are not automatically disqualified. Qualified candidates with criminal records are welcome to undergo a background check in order to pick up background-check-required shifts.
Your background check report will be reviewed independently, using certain criteria, including the following factors:
Whether the convictions are related to the work performed through Qwick’s platform
Amount of time passed since the offense
Seriousness of the offense
Rehabilitation efforts
Successful employment since the conviction
Any information provided by or about the professional regarding the conviction
Any other factors required by law
Below are some examples of how certain convictions may be adjudicated. These are just examples, and the factors above will be used when considering each professional’s record.

Results of the Background Check
If You Pass
If your background check results are determined to be consistent with the requirements of background-check required shift(s), you will be considered to have passed. You will start to see additional shifts from our business partners that require background checks in your app, and you can start picking them up immediately.
If Further Review is Required
If your background check results do not immediately pass and an assessment with further review is required, you will be notified and given the opportunity to submit additional information (including mitigating circumstances, your rehabilitation efforts, or other information you would like to be considered before a final decision is made). You will also be notified and given the opportunity to dispute any information in your background check report that you believe is incorrect by contacting Checkr through the Checkr applicant portal. If your background check report is later updated, please text us at 79425 so the new updated information can be reassessed.
