Businesses count on our professionals to show up ready to work. It’s best practice to only accept shifts you know you can make so that cancelations don’t affect your future invites.

Pro Tip: If you accidentally accepted a shift, you have 15 minutes to cancel it without any penalty.

Indicating when you're running late

If you’re running late to a shift you've accepted, be sure to hit “Running Late” at the bottom of the shift card on the Schedule page in the app so we can let the business know!

Please note: Marking yourself as running late does not excuse the fact that you will be late. This means a business partner may no longer need you or choose to cancel the shift if you cannot arrive on time. If you are sent home for not being needed and are over 15 minutes past the start of the shift, you will not be paid the 4-hour minimum payment.

Canceling a shift you’ve accepted

If you need to cancel a shift after you’ve accepted it, you can do so within the app.

  1. Navigate to the “My Shifts” section;

  2. Open the shift you wish to cancel; and

  3. Tap “Cancel Shift."

Please note: Canceling a shift will result in a penalty (thus negatively affecting your QwickScore), and automatically remove all upcoming shifts from your view. Additionally, cancelations have the potential to affect your eligibility with Qwick—however the sooner you cancel, the smaller the penalty.

Emergency Cancelations

We understand that you may experience unforeseen circumstances affecting your ability to work a previously accepted shift. If you cancel because of a personal or family emergency, please let us know as soon as you can that you won’t be able to make your shift by:

  • Canceling your shift as outlined above;

  • Texting 79425 to let us know what happened; and

  • Text proof of formal documentation that supports your emergency cancelation reason to ensure we can waive any associated penalties to 79425 or email it to [email protected].

Although each case is handled individually, some common examples for emergencies (and the type of documentation that would be sufficient to excuse it) include:

Reason for canceling

Documentation needed

Car issues

Statement from mechanic, AAA

Car accident

Police report, towing/AAA statement

Illness or injury

Watermarked doctor's note, positive illness test

Close friend or family illness/death

Watermarked doctor's note, funeral programs/obituary

Once you’re able to provide documentation that removes the penalty, we’ll attempt to re-add you back to the canceled shift.
